Important Artist Visa Update Since 4 September Regarding New Visa Stamp Application Restrictions

9 September 2025

Naturally, 2 days after our last post the Department of State dropped a bombshell:

Effective 6 September 2025, Visa applicants can now only file visa stamp applications at consulates in countries of their nationality or residence!

This means that, setting aside long-standing policy, artists can no longer apply for visa stamps at any U.S. Consulate. They can now only file their applications and have their interviews in countries where they are either citizens or have legal residency!

Supposedly, existing appointments won’t be impacted, but who knows?

Deep Thoughts…

“The advantage of being disorganized when you’re young means that people don’t notice when you get old and forgetful.”
